People have always told stories, right back to the visual tales shown in the  earliest cave paintings of ancient man. We continue to make sense of the world today by sharing our own stories with each other day in, day out. We are all tellers of stories, whether we realise it or not, but our stories need listeners. By allowing ourselves to listen and enter the narrative world of another person, we begin to experience life from their point of view.

Storytelling can be a powerful tool to communicate what people have really experienced, rather than what others imagine they have experienced, and many organisations are beginning to unlock the power of stories to deepen their knowledge and improve their practice.
